If 2020 taught us anything, it’s to be ready for anything and everything—the exceptional and the unprecedented. As the new year arrives on our doorstep, we will have more uncertainty coming our way, but with uncertainty always comes opportunity—the opportunity to draw from lessons learned from our failures and successes and the opportunity to thrive in the face of adversity.

According to Merriam Webster, the most looked-up term for the year was the word “pandemic,” and that’s a fitting word for the year. The word “pandemic” comes from the Greek “pan-“, “all” + “demos,” “people or population” = “pandemos” = “all the people.” A pandemic affects all (nearly all) of the people. In some way or another, each and every one of us has felt the effects of a remarkable and historic year, and the pandemic was only one aspect of it.

Looking back on our posts of 2020, the most looked-up terms for the year were mindset and preparation—specifically “mindset training” and “luck favors the prepared.” Both of those terms focus on controlling your controllables—being proactive and understanding that you are much more powerful than you give yourself credit for. In case you missed them, or want to refresh and reset your mindset in preparation for the New Year, here’s the topmost unstoppable ideas we shared in 2020. And, here’s to making 2021 the best year yet!
