“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.” – Calvin Coolidge
Never Stop Learning
Never stop learning, especially when presented with adversity. Remember, your brain is only as good as the inputs it receives—spend your life filling it with new inputs that will help you dream up new courses to conquer. Your life is Up To You!
You’ve probably heard the saying that you’re never too old to learn. Well, it’s true! Learning is a lifelong process, and it can be incredibly rewarding. Not only does learning help you to expand your horizons and gain new knowledge, but it can also help you to overcome adversity. When you face a challenging situation, your natural instinct might be to give up. But if you’ve been actively engaged in learning throughout your life, you’ll have the skills and knowledge necessary to tackle the problem head-on. So never stop learning, even when things get tough. Your brain is a powerful tool, and it deserves to be treated as such. Fill your life with input that will inspire you and help you dream
Never Stop Dreaming
One of the most important elements in dreaming is to dream without limitations, to dream with reckless abandon, to dream as if no one is watching or judging you. Dreaming is very personal—it’s what makes you, you. But, to dream big dreams, you have to dream without limits, and that can be hard when you’ve grown up learning the rules of your house, the rules at school, and the rules at work.
Dreaming big starts with a commitment to yourself that you will not let anything stand in your way. That you will not allow other people’s opinions or limitations to stop you. To dream without limits means that you are putting your dreams first, and that can be scary. It means that you might have to take some risks and that you might fail. But, it also means that you have the potential to achieve something great. So, if you want to achieve your big dreams, start by dreaming without limits. Let go of what other people think, and let yourself fly.
Never Stop Believing in Yourself
If you never stop believing in yourself, you will become unstoppable at living your dreams. Just like the river that can flow over some obstacles and go around others by gradually carving its own path, as you continue to believe in yourself, you will be able to conquer all obstacles in your path.
When you dare to follow your dreams, rivers of possibilities will open up for you and there will be no limit to what you can achieve. So always keep believing in yourself and never give up on your dreams because, with determination and perseverance, anything is possible. When you stop believing in yourself, it’s like telling yourself that your dreams are impossible. But if you never give up on yourself, eventually you will find a way to make your dreams come true. So never give up on yourself and your dreams, because if you do, you’ll never know what you’re truly capable of achieving.
Never Stop Looking for That Light
It helps me to search for the light in any storm I encounter. I have this painting hanging right across from where I sit for every meal to remind me that no storm lasts forever. Every storm has its light; you just need to find it. And, the way to find that light is to never stop looking.
I am grateful for the storms in my life. They have led me to find the light that was hidden within them. Every storm has its light; you just need to find it. And, the way to find that light is to never stop looking. No matter how dark and seemingly hopeless a situation may be, there is always a light to be found. It may be a glimmer at first, but if you keep searching, you will find it. The light may be a sign of hope, a ray of sunshine, or a message from the universe. Whatever form it takes, the light is there to guide you through the storm. So, when you find yourself in the midst of a storm, remember to search for the light. It
Never Stop Pulling
My crew coach was more than a coach—he was more of a mentor of boys aspiring to be men. He instilled in me, and hundreds like me, the makings of manhood and how to be a true teammate. He taught me how to pull hard on and off the water, how to win as a team, and no matter what, how to never stop pulling. His lessons went beyond the rowing shell and transcended the river. They were life lessons that I have carried with me through college and into my career. I am proud to say that I am one of the many young men he has helped mold into successful adults.
