The path to sales success is driven by our thoughts, focus, and beliefs. I refer to this process as the Performance Loop, which starts with a choice between two voices: the Whiner or the Winner.
When we choose to focus on the Whiner, our performance is lackluster because this voice convinces us to conserve energy and remain in our comfort zone.
However, if we allow the Winner to encourage us, our focus will lead us to take risks and committed action in pursuit of new experiences.
The Whiner limits our potential and keeps us in mediocrity, while the Winner unlocks our abilities and drives us toward our dreams.
It's up to us to choose which voice to embrace and to drive the direction of our performance loop.
The most significant lesson you can take away from this post is learning how to lead the two opposing forces that we face every day.
It took me over 15 years of reflection and coaching to develop this skill, and it has enabled me to help others lead themselves more effectively.
Ultimately, the most important kind of leadership is leading yourself—mastering the ability to control and direct these inner voices.
Take this lesson to heart and start leading yourself towards a fulfilling and successful life.
